The Lady Be Project

A Prototype Racer. A Pioneer. A Project With Purpose.

Lady Be is where performance pedigree meets relentless ambition.

Originally commissioned for the French Admiral’s Cup team, she was penned by none other than Germán Frers—crafted as a one-off offshore racing machine, not a production cruiser. Her radical carbon fibre, Kevlar, and epoxy construction pushed the limits in 1983, setting a new bar for what performance yachts could be. It was this very design that Beneteau later adapted for their iconic First 456 series. Lady Be wasn’t just the start of a line—she was the line.

But legends don’t age—they evolve. And today, Lady Be is undergoing a comprehensive transformation: from purebred racer to high-performance world cruiser. Not with nostalgia, but with precision.

Behind The Lady Be Project is a team as serious as the boat herself: engineers with cutting-edge systems experience, naval architects who understand both hull lines and hydrodynamics, and ocean sailors who’ve logged more than 100,000 nautical miles collectively. Every element—from structural modifications to electrical systems—is considered, calculated, and crafted to make her faster, stronger, smarter.

This isn’t just a refit. It’s a reimagining—with the performance DNA preserved, the comfort turned up, and the systems future-proofed for serious offshore adventure.

Lady Be isn’t coming back quietly. She’s coming back better.
